Why it’s a Weeknight Watch

It's still drawing plenty of interest, but a lukewarm 5.9 out of 10 from audiences and a box office loss held it back. Fine if it's on; don't plan your night around it.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it
Made for anyone who wants a laugh, sci-fi fans and fantasy fans. If you loved Alita: Battle Angel, start here. Critics rate it higher than audiences do, so it rewards patience more than it chases thrills.
The mood
Light and funny.
The pace
Fast-moving, at 2 hr 1 min.
What might put you off
  • Rated PG-13: scary moments. Probably too much for younger kids.
  • Audiences were cooler on it than critics.

When Champion City's hero Captain Amazing is kidnapped by the recently paroled supervillain Casanova Frankenstein, a trio of average, everyday superheroes -- Mr. Furious, the Shoveler and the Blue Raja -- assemble a new super team to save him.
