Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it: Made for anyone who wants a laugh and families. If you loved Malcolm in the Middle, start here.
The mood: Provocative satire that goes after everyone.
The pace: 2 seasons: a few weeks of evenings, short, snackable episodes, about 32 hours in all.
What might put you off: Rated TV-G, but scary moments.
Made in 1964: an older pace and style.

A satirical inversion of the ideal of the perfect American nuclear family, they are an eccentric wealthy family who delight in everything grotesque and macabre, and are never really aware that people find them bizarre or frightening. In fact, they themselves are often terrified by "normal" people.
