Sunday Safe Bet

Why it’s a Sunday Safe Bet

It earned strong reviews (86% on Rotten Tomatoes) and it's still drawing plenty of interest, though it had a lukewarm 7.0 out of 10 from audiences and a short run with a modest audience. A safe bet when you want something reliable.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it: Made for crime-drama fans and anyone who likes to be kept guessing. If you loved Dexter or Strike, start here. Critics rate it higher than audiences do, so it rewards patience more than it chases thrills.
The mood: Tense, dark and gritty.
The pace: 3 seasons: a few weeks of evenings.
What might put you off: Rated TV-MA: meant for adults.
Audiences were cooler on it than critics.

Alex Cross is a brilliant but flawed homicide detective and full of contradictions. A doting father and family man, Cross is single-minded to the point of obsession when he hunts killers. He is desperate for love, but his wife’s murder has left him too damaged to receive it.
