Why it’s a Weeknight Watch

With rough reviews and a small audience, it's a mixed bag. Fine if it's on; don't plan your night around it.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Who'll love it: Made for anyone who loves a strong character drama. If you loved Pretty Little Liars or 24, start here. Audiences love it more than critics do: a crowd-pleaser first.
The mood: Thoughtful and character-driven.
The pace: One season: easy to finish in a weekend or two, hour-long episodes, about 7 hours in all.
What might put you off: Rated TV-MA: meant for adults.
It's in Korean, so expect subtitles (or a dub).
Critics were cooler on it than audiences.
