Why it’s a Monday Morning Maybe

With a small audience and a quick end and little lasting buzz, this one could be a tough watch. Keep your phone handy.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it: Made for anyone who wants a laugh.
The mood: Light and funny.
The pace: 2 seasons: a few weeks of evenings, episodes of about 41 minutes, about 21 hours in all.
What might put you off: It's in another language, so expect subtitles (or a dub).

Starring Hesham Maged and Asmaa Galal, House Duties follows Hamdi, a forensic doctor, and his wife as they desperately search for a home manager to help with their newborn twins. What follows is a parade of wildly unsuitable candidates — phone-addicted, boundary-crossing and thoroughly chaotic — while Hamdi's own bizarre cases at work add to the mayhem. A sharply written, situation-comedy standout praised for its wit and performances.
