Friday Night Flick

Why it’s a Friday Night Flick

Critics loved it (79 on Metacritic) and it won 2 Emmys. Make plans for this one.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Who'll love it: Made for anyone who wants a laugh. If you loved The Office or Superstore, start here. Critics rate it higher than audiences do, so it rewards patience more than it chases thrills.
The mood: Light and funny.
The pace: 9 seasons, but most episodes stand on their own, so you can dip in anywhere.
What might put you off: Rated TV-14. Probably too much for younger kids.
It was cancelled, so the story may not get a proper ending.
Audiences were cooler on it than critics.

In the unreal world of Sacred Heart Hospital, John "J.D." Dorian learns the ways of medicine, friendship and life.
