Why it’s a Weeknight Watch

It's still drawing plenty of interest, but middling reviews (55% on Rotten Tomatoes) held it back. Fine if it's on; don't plan your night around it.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it: Made for anyone who wants a laugh and families.
The mood: Light and funny, feel-good.
The pace: 10 seasons, but most episodes stand on their own, so you can dip in anywhere.
What might put you off: Rated TV-14. Probably too much for younger kids.

Before there were parenting blogs, trophies for showing up, and peanut allergies, there was a simpler time called the '80s. For geeky 11-year old Adam these were his wonder years and he faced them armed with a video camera to capture all the crazy. The Goldbergs are a loving family like any other, just with a lot more yelling.
