Sunday Safe Bet

Why it’s a Sunday Safe Bet

It earned strong reviews (86% on Rotten Tomatoes), though it had a lukewarm 6.8 out of 10 from audiences and a short run with a modest audience. A safe bet when you want something reliable.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it: Made for crime-drama fans, anyone who likes to be kept guessing and sci-fi fans. If you loved Fargo or Vigil, start here. Critics rate it higher than audiences do, so it rewards patience more than it chases thrills.
The mood: Tense, dark and gritty.
The pace: 3 seasons: a few weeks of evenings, episodes of about 42 minutes, about 18 hours in all.
What might put you off: Rated TV-MA: expect violence.
Audiences were cooler on it than critics.

Fortitude is a place like nowhere else. Although surrounded by the savage beauty of the Arctic landscape, Fortitude is one of the safest towns on earth. There has never been a violent crime here. Until now. In such a close-knit community a murder touches everyone and the unsettling, mysterious horror of this crime threatens the future of the town itself.
