Weeknight Watch

Why it’s a Weeknight Watch

With a short run with a modest audience and little lasting buzz, it's a mixed bag. Fine if it's on; don't plan your night around it.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it: Made for crime-drama fans and anyone who likes to be kept guessing. If you loved Fargo or Dept. Q, start here.
The mood: Tense, dark and gritty.
The pace: 3 seasons: a few weeks of evenings, episodes of about 50 minutes, about 23 hours in all.
What might put you off: Rated TV-14. Probably too much for younger kids.
It's in another language, so expect subtitles (or a dub).

The body of a murder victim turns up in a small Icelandic village just as a major snowstorm cuts the region off from the rest of the world.
