Is it for you?

Who'll love it: Made for crime-drama fans. If you loved Unforgotten or Luther, start here. Critics rate it higher than audiences do, so it rewards patience more than it chases thrills.
The mood: Dark and gritty.
The pace: 3 seasons: a few weeks of evenings, episodes of about 45 minutes, about 18 hours in all.
What might put you off: Rated TV-MA: expect violence.

Ten years ago Marcella gave up her fast-tracked police career to marry and devote her life to her family. With the abrupt end to her marriage and isolated from her 13 year old daughter and 10 year old son, Marcella throws herself into work to stop herself from falling apart.
