Weeknight Watchearly rating

Why it’s a Weeknight Watch

With a short run with a modest audience, it's a mixed bag. Fine if it's on; don't plan your night around it.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it: Made for anyone who wants a laugh, sci-fi fans and action fans. If you loved X-Men '97 or Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake, start here.
The mood: Light and funny.
The pace: 7 seasons, but most episodes stand on their own, so you can dip in anywhere (about 20 minutes each).
What might put you off: Rated TV-14. Probably too much for younger kids.
It's in Chinese, so expect subtitles (or a dub).

After waking up, Mo Fan suddenly finds himself in a world where schools teach magic and monsters eat humans. However, his own situation hasn’t really changed that much. Labelled the loser of his school, he wants to afford a better life for his physical disabled sister, who is in a wheelchair, and his father. To make it possible, he took on the goal to become the best magician and to show everyone that one’s status in society is not important to achieve this.
