Sunday Safe Bet

Why it’s a Sunday Safe Bet

It earned strong reviews (62 on Metacritic), though it had a lukewarm 7.0 out of 10 from audiences and a small audience. A safe bet when you want something reliable.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it: Made for sci-fi fans and action fans. If you loved The Walking Dead or True Blood, start here. Critics rate it higher than audiences do, so it rewards patience more than it chases thrills.
The mood: Mind-bending.
The pace: One season: easy to finish in a weekend or two, episodes of about 44 minutes, about 7 hours in all.
What might put you off: Rated TV-14. Probably too much for younger kids.
It was cancelled, so the story may not get a proper ending.

A post-apocalyptic story about a botched U.S. government experiment that turns a group of death row inmates into highly infectious vampires, and an orphan girl who might be the only person able to stop the ensuing crisis.
