Why it’s a Weeknight Watch

With a small audience and a quick end and almost no lasting buzz, it's a mixed bag. Fine if it's on; don't plan your night around it.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it: Made for anyone who loves a strong character drama. If you loved How to Get Away with Murder or Marvel's Daredevil, start here.
The mood: Thoughtful and character-driven.
The pace: 1 season: a few weeks of evenings, episodes of about 43 minutes, about 9 hours in all.
What might put you off: Rated TV-14. Probably too much for younger kids.
It was cancelled, so the story may not get a proper ending.

Madeline Scott, a fierce and uncompromising lawyer with a hunger for justice, runs an underdog criminal defense firm. There is no one who understands the power of setting an innocent person free more than Madeline. At age 18, she was wrongfully convicted, along with her brother, in a sensational murder case. Madeline defends others as she fights to maintain her innocence and searches for the real killer in her own case.
