Is it for you?

Who'll love it
Made for crime-drama fans. If you loved Deadwood or Justified, start here.
The mood
Dark and gritty.
The pace
1 season: a few weeks of evenings, episodes of about 43 minutes, about 9 hours in all.
What might put you off
  • Rated TV-14. Probably too much for younger kids.
  • It was cancelled, so the story may not get a proper ending.

When the Los Angeles County’s Sheriff dies, an arcane rule forged back in the Wild West thrusts the most unlikely man into the job: a fifth-generation lawman, more comfortable taking down bad guys than navigating a sea of politics, who won’t rest until justice is served.
