Sunday Safe Bet

Why it’s a Sunday Safe Bet

It earned strong reviews (85% on Rotten Tomatoes), though it had a small audience and little lasting buzz. A safe bet when you want something reliable.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it: Made for crime-drama fans and anyone who likes to be kept guessing. If you loved Riverdale or Pretty Little Liars, start here. Critics rate it higher than audiences do, so it rewards patience more than it chases thrills.
The mood: Tense, dark and gritty.
The pace: One season: easy to finish in a weekend or two, episodes of about 45 minutes, about 8 hours in all.
What might put you off: Rated TV-MA: expect violence.
It was cancelled, so the story may not get a proper ending.
Audiences were cooler on it than critics.

Dive into the cutthroat world of competitive high school cheerleading, following the fraught relationship between two best friends after a new coach arrives to bring their team to prominence.
