Why it’s a Saturday Special

Critics loved it (93% on Rotten Tomatoes) and it's still drawing plenty of interest, despite a short run with a modest audience. A strong pick for the weekend.

Based on critics, audiences, awards, box office and buzz. Details below.

Is it for you?

Who'll love it: Made for crime fans, anyone who likes to be kept guessing and action fans. If you loved Marvel's Daredevil or Harley Quinn, start here. Critics rate it higher than audiences do, so it rewards patience more than it chases thrills.
The mood: Tense, gritty.
The pace: 2 seasons: a few weeks of evenings.
What might put you off: Rated TV-14. Probably too much for younger kids.
Audiences were cooler on it than critics.

Welcome to Gotham City, where the corrupt outnumber the good, criminals run rampant and law-abiding citizens live in a constant state of fear. Forged in the fire of tragedy, wealthy socialite Bruce Wayne becomes something both more and less than human—the Batman. His one-man crusade for justice attracts unexpected allies within the GCPD and City Hall, but his heroic actions spawn deadly, unforeseen ramifications.
